RED FLAG RULE
Posted Friday, August 22, 2008 by judy The Federal Trade Commission has suspended enforcement of the new "Red Flags Rule" until December 1, 2010 to give creditors and financial institutions additional time in which to develop and implement written identity theft prevention programs.
THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION'S RED FLAGS RULE requires every U.S. auto dealer to develope, implement, and maintain a written, comprehensive identity theft prevention program that specifically outlines the dealership's plan to protect customer information.
